This shirt is inspired by a verse in Song of Solomon in which a bride is talking to her betrothed. “I am dark, but lovely, O daughters of Jerusalem, Like the tents of Kedar, Like the curtains of Solomon.” Song of Solomon 1:5 NKJV He says to her later in the chapter, "Behold, you are fair, my love! Behold, you are fair! You have dove’s eyes." Song of Solomon 1:15
We know that this is Jesus speaking to the Church and not Solomon courting a young lady. Jesus is not put off by the darkness of your skin or what other people perceive to be ugly or unappealing. He wants your heart more than anything else, and to Him you are beautiful; more beautiful than you can know!
