An Explanation of Salvation

Here is a brief description of salvation, what it is, why it had to be done and why God made it available to us. Also included is a prayer of salvation for those who would like to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior for the first time, or for those who would like to rededicate their lives.

Salvation

God wanted a family. He wanted children to love and who would return love to Him of their own free will. So He made humans in His image and likeness, and gave them dominion. He gave them everything and He fellowshipped with them everyday, satan was jealous of the attention they were receiving from God and tricked them into giving their dominion to him by being disobedient to God, committing high treason, and instead believing him. God lost His family. God had devised a plan in case man fell, and as man got more wicked and sinful, He spoke through His prophets of a deliverer. Man would never be able to return to what Adam was before the fall without His help. He had to come to earth as a man and take the sins of the world. He had to be punished in our place. The bible said that He was without sin, but He became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). He took upon Himself our sins, sickness and diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). He took our curses and died the most cruel death upon a cross, after being beaten and humiliated beyond imagination. He became the scapegoat, and died, and went to hell for us (1 Peter 2:24). hell was made for the devil and his angels. No human being should go there, but because of our sin of being obedient to satan, we were to suffer the same fate. satan will do anything to get humans to follow him into the pit, because he hates us.

Jesus rose triumphantly from the dead, overpowering the enemy and taking back the dominion for man. All we have to do is to ask God to forgive us of our sins and accept the free gift of salvation by asking Jesus into our hearts as Lord and Savior.

Oxford Languages defines salvation as "preservation or deliverance from  harm, ruin or loss." By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are saying 'yes' to Him taking our place, and therefore our punishment for sin, being saved from the punishment we deserved.

“Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 AMPC

Prayer of Salvation:

If you would like to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, then repeat this prayer: “ Lord, I repent of my sins. I ask Jesus into my heart. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died on the cross for my sins, and He rose again. I accept Jesus as my Lord and savior. In Jesus name, Amen.”
